ArSilicii BC 520 Lithium?

Hello guys!

Do any of you use the Arsilicii BC 520 charger for a Lithium battery?
I saw that the manufacturer of this device confirms that it is compatible with Lithium, but SW1 and SW 2 need to be turned OFF.

If you use it, can anyone tell how it behaves?

since I’m planning to replace my Pb-battery by lifepo4, I’m asking my self the same question. I decided stay with the BC-520 and also wondering wich jumper setting is the closest to the lithium. I suppose most of the LiFePo-Batteries require 14,6 V. According to the table ( see below) in the BC-520 manual the AGM-setting (14,5V) is the best for the lithium unless the both jumper-off-setting (AUS/AUS) was dedicated programmed for the lithium battery.

Yes, with 14,5 Voltage the batterie won’t get totally fully charged. But my Votronic booster has the right lithium setting and willcharge the battery till the end while driving. Also possible to connect from time to time a simple ( cheap) charger with 14,6 V to let the battery do the cell balancing. But this is what you gonna do every couple of weeks.

So, for my ( complete theoretical) opinion, you can use the BC-520 with AGM setting or you let them do the programming for lithium.

At the moment I have installed 2 AGM batteries of 100 ah each, batteries that are also charged with the help of 2 pcs -300w voltaic panels from Victron and a 30A Victron MPPT.

In the future I want to replace the current batteries with 2 lithium batteries of 100ah each. I will try to use with the current Arsilicii BC 520 ... I hope everything will be ok!.

ja du magst recht haben das dies ein deutschsprachiges Forum ist aber ich persönlich habe da jetzt kein Problem mit der Frage auf englisch.
Wenn jemand auf englisch fragt und jemand auf englisch hilft, ist doch alles gut.
Ich hätte auch noch geantwortet, dann auch auf englisch, aber Vic war halt schneller.

Ich dachte wir versuchen zu helfen, egal in welcher Sprache.

Aber vielleicht schaue ich auch zu viele englische Sachen und spreche zu viel englisch an der Arbeit, als das mich das nicht stört.

Wo habe ich nicht mitgekriegt das er ein Norweger ist?

Aber wie gesagt: Ja, Forensprache ist vorzugsweise deutsch, aber was anderes verboten habe ich auch nicht, oder?

Ich freu mich über internationales Publikum und auch über Fernsehbeiträge. Ich freu mich überhaupt ganz gerne.

Back with an update, the people from Arsilici say that their BC 520 unit can charge lithium by setting their device to default, but it is not responsible for dc-dc charging, and only for charging from 220V.
Now I asked Palmo, where is the unit that ensures DC to DC charging and they answer me that the BC 520 does this... The manufacturer (Arsilicii) claims that the BC 520 only ensures the charging of the service battery from 220V.
Do you have any idea how to carry out DC to DC charging?...I want to set up this charging also for Lithium battery.

Hi Lukas,
Thank you for the update. In the meanwhile I’m also further and using since a couple of months 100 AH Kepworth LiFePo4. I’m using it with original Palmo( Arsilicii) BC-520 charger. Just set the jumper as you already mentioned.

This devise ist for charging and power supply from 220v to DC ( 12V). So for charging from the motor generator you need an extra device , so called booster ( DC-DC charger) it also supports the LifePo4. I use the votronic vcc 1212-30 ( I like the hardware display) many people use Victron devices.

But yes, you need the DC-DC Charger. While doing cable work, beware that you disconnect the Battery 1 ( motor, vehicle battery) Plus from the Poverlink ( the black box next to your second batterie). It’s plus comes from the booster (DC-Dc charger).

wie ich schrieb, ich habe damit kein Problem auf Englisch zu kommunizieren, aber ich möchte, das wir hier auf Deutsch bleiben.
Ist doch auch nicht weiter schwierig.

Und ihr dürft gerne hier alle den Bären steppen lassen.
Ich als Administrator werde dann weiterhin versuchen den Takt vorzugeben, einzuhalten und auch ansonsten eure Wünsche zu erfüllen.
Ebenso wie ich all die Fake Accounts verhindere, Viagra Angebote rauswerfe und auch einfach nur das Ganze am Laufen halte.
